Actor Uday Kiran, a victim of caste politics in Tollywood?

Hyderabad, Jan 8: 33-year-old Uday Kiran, who committed suicide, has been cremated at Erragadda cremation groundsin Hyderabad on Tuesday, Jan 7. A day after his cremation, police questioned his wife Vishita and other family members in connection with the death of the hat-trick hero of Tollywood. While the cops have been waiting for Kiran's postmortem report to arrive, a section of Telugu film industry reportedly started discussing that Kiran had become a victim of caste politics in the South Indian cine world. Media reports said that people from the industry believe that Kiran was deliberately sidelined by the top stars and producers after his fabulous initial years. Kiran belonged to Brahmins caste. People from the same caste accused other two castes -- Kamma and Kapu of playing politics in the industry. Kamma and Kapu, to which majority of Telugu heroes such as Chiranjeevi, Balakrishnan belong to, allegedly ruled the industry and do not allow others to build a successful film career.
